Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a movie based on the prequel to the manga series. This film premiered in Japanese theaters in December last year, but the film produced by animation studio MAPPA has announced that it will be released internationally this year. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a prequel to the Jujutsu Kaisen anime series. The film takes place about a year before the start of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga and anime. So, Satoru Gojo was a year younger here, which wasn't too different compared to his level and appearance in the anime. Meanwhile, a number of new faces appear here. The events that took place a year before in the anime were far more widespread and gruesome. In fact, it's a full-blown urban war, which catches the attention of several freelancers and old friends.
It was the 50th highest-grossing film in Japan and made a profit of about 9.3 million yen within 1 month. Toho Movie announced that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has reached a revenue of 10.4 billion yen (~$90.4 million) with over 7.6 million tickets sold. The anime movie surpassed the 10 billion yen milestone 43 days after it came out in Japanese theaters on December 24, 2021.
The movie will focus on Yuta Okkotsu who is a protagonist character.
The best and most powerful and feared magician in this film is Yuta Okkotsu. Again, he was referenced in the anime. In fact, a number of magicians at Jujutsu High School were shocked to learn when Satoru Gojo chose Yuji Itadori as Yuta's replacement. A high school boy who is naive and rigid and often becomes the victim of bullying by his friends. Yuta lost his childhood friend, Rita Orimoto, the cause of Rita's death in an accident. Since Rita's departure, Yuta feels that he is often possessed by the cursed spirit of Rita, the curse can never be lost, cannot be controlled, and the curse is very strong. From that incident Yuta and his curse became a hot topic among Jujutsu magicians, including Satoru Gojo.
Gojo is the one who invited Yuta to the high school. Satoru has a habit of selecting people who have the potential to become Jujutsu magicians and educating them to become strong with his guidance. Yuta is Satoru's first choice. Satoru will teach Yuta how to control the curse's power. Yuta finally agreed to Satoru's invitation to study in Jujutsu. More screenplay for Maki, Panda and Toge. Apart from Satoru, Suguru, and Nanami, there are many other familiar faces from anime in this film. They were mainly from 2nd and 3rd grade students of Tokyo Jujutsu High School. Grade 2 students will get a decent spotlight. They are Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda. In this film, they are still in grade 1 with Yuta Okkotsu. Together, they fight and try to stop Suguru and his genocidal plans.
Lots and lots of Black Flashes. Black Flashes are the strongest attack that a Jujutsu Sorcerer can unleash. These attacks cannot be used carelessly. Even Satoru Gojo as a Sensei should not be careless to do it. In this film, Nanami is depicted as a magician who can use four Black Flashes in succession, just as Yuji Itadori did when he fought Hanami.
